Day 3

Here is our second day of vbs. We have had about fifty students and it has been really great so far. The kids have been awesome and we have really enjoyed getting to know them. Our translators have been absolutely fantastic and so helpful. I wish all of you could be here with us to experience this with us. The each one of the children are so special. They have been eating up the attention we have been giving them. Take a look at the days pictures.

We flipped this car in the afternoon for the guys to work on it. John's front lawn is the local auto shop. This was quite the experience.

This is us working in another village where the gospel is beginning to be spread. We kinda felt like pioneer missionaries because we just set up shop right in the middle of the town and everyone looked at us like we were crazy, but they seemed to really enjoy us. Lucky for us we have awesome translators, otherwise it would have been impossible. It helped us realize how incredible those pioneer missionaries were, because it was so different and we found it quite challenging to share the gospel in that environment.

Continue to pray for us. We are all getting a little sick and could use your prayers of strength. Plus I might have to preach three times tomorrow. Twice at church services in two different cities and an evangelistic outreach in the city. Look forward to seeing you soon.

  1. Hey everybody! Mike here.
So wonderful to see everything you guys have been up to. I'm so excited for you guys you don't even know! I know that every one of you will come back as significantly different people than you left as and that is so cool. I just cant wait to see you all again.
Jordan and Julie, I missed saying goodbye to you, so, goodbye and have a wonderful trip!
As I was praying for you guys today I had a verse from Matthew 10 laid on my heart. Jesus is commisioning His disciples and says to them "What I speak in the darkness say in the light, what I whisper in secret, shout it from the rooftops" something along those lines. Be attentive to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and be quick to testify of what He's up to in each of your hearts.
May you all be healed from your silly sicknesses and be equiped to minister effectively to these kids. I think about you alot and I miss you guys and I love you guys a lot and i'm super excited to hear all of your crazy stories! I look forward to hearing what tomorrow brings!

    Peace out guys
    Mike

  2. Hey everyone, Jordan and Julie's Mom again!! Praying for you each and every day. So excited to see the pictures of how God is using you. Your presence is the light in the darkness! Jordan, I pray God's mighty spirit to fall down on you. You have been called for such a time as this to bring hope and healing to those that will hear. Remember, the ol' familiar verse...I CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil. 4:13. He is doing it in and through you all RIGHT NOW!! Standing in the gap for you. AND claiming that by His wounds we are healed...even the sickness. Hugs to all! Mom Cavanaugh
